Vaisakhi message from British Prime Minister

David Cameron the British Prime Minister sent the following message on the Sikh New year celebrations. Mr Cameron also joined Sikh celebrations at Gravesend Sikh Temple in Kent.

I send my best wishes to everyone in Britain and around the world celebrating Vaisakhi. I know that this festival is an important time for the Sikhs as you come together with friends and family to commemorate the birth of khalsa.
This year marks 160 years since the firs Sikh came to Britain. Since that time you have made an incredibly important contribution to our country in so many ways.
