The Dal Khalsa took a dig at Centre for releasing postal stamp of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh terming the Congress leader as a ‘murderer of Sikh youth
Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the Centre’s’ decision to release the postal stamp as a tribute on the former chief minister on his 18th death anniversary was tantamount to rubbing salt on the simmering wounds of the Sikh people.’


Empire ,Faith and War Exhibition – the Sikhs and world war 1

A landmark Exhibition presented by the U.K .Punjab Heritage Association ( UKPHA) to commemorate the remarkable but largely forgotten contribution and experience of Sikh Soldiers as well as the families left behind will be held at the School of Oriental studies in the University of London.

The British people and some Europeans will recall that the Sikhs were he backbone of the British army in the first and second world wars.


Baba Nanak Public holiday in Punjab .

Sardar Ramesh Singh, the first Sikh member of the Punjab Assembly Lahore, tabled a motion that a public holiday be declared in the Punjab on the birthday of Baba Guru Nanak. The Assembly approved the resolution . Sardar Ramesh Singh is a member of Pakistan Muslim league party ( PML-N).

There is a public holiday in Sheikhpura district every year on the birth anniversary of the Guru.

Guru Nanak is the son of the Punjab and his poetry is unparalleled in the world just like Baba Sheikh Farid .
